Why Make This Recipe

  • Easy – these are simple to prepare and ready in 12 minutes.
  • All season – perfect for summer, but can be made all year long.
  • Uses up leftovers – A great way to use up any leftover pie filling or fluff.
  • Budget Friendly – made with affordable ingredients you already own.
the ingredients needed for making cherry pie sliders

Ingredient Notes

  • Cherry pie filling – Use homemade or store-bought. Both are delicious.
  • Hawaiian slider buns – They have a touch of sweetness. You can use plain slider buns if you prefer.
  • Marshmallow fluff – Use homemade or store bought. We chose vanilla, but you can test other flavors.

How To Make Cherry Pie Sliders

Get full ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below.

  1. Slice Hawaiian slider buns in half horizontally and lay the bottoms in a baking dish.
  2. Spread on the marshmallow fluff, then the cherry pie filling, and add the top bun.
  3. Brush the top of each slider with melted butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar if you wish (optional fluff).
  4. Bake for 12 minutes until nice and hot.

Tips For Success

  • Use a serrated bread knife to cut the sliders for the best results.
  • To make it easy to assemble don’t separate the buns (keep them attached).
  • Make sure to lightly spray or oil the baking sheet before you place the bottom halves of the slider buns on it.
  • These cherry sliders are best eaten immediately after baking.

Delicious Variations

  • Swap the filling – We love cherry pie filling, but any variety of pie filling will work.
  • Use cream cheese – Make this with slightly sweetened cream cheese instead of marshmallow fluff.
  • Garnish it – Top the sliders with cream cheese frosting or whipped cream and add sprinkles, chopped nuts, crushed candy, or graham crackers crumbs.

Budget-Friendly Tips

  • Make homemade buns – Homemade buns are less expensive than store-bought.
  • Shop sales – Buy slider buns, cherry pie filling and marshmallow fluff on sale, use coupons or look for discounts in shopping apps.
  • Buy store brands – Store brand ingredients will be less expensive than name brands.

Ingredients

  • 10 slider buns I used Hawaiian rolls
  • 21 ounces 1 can (595g) cherry pie filling

  • ¼ cup (56g) melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F / 180C / gas 4.
  • Cut all buns in half lengthwise. I did this so that they were still technically connected.

  • Place top of the buns back on. Top each one with melted butter and cinnamon sugar.
  • Bake for 12 minutes, or until warm and gooey.

Notes

  • Use a serrated bread knife to cut the sliders for the best results.

So I was wondering, if I could switch out Cherry Jam or Jelly instead of Cherry pie filling???
I think the jam as more substance….
