What Are Churros?
Churros are a deep-fried pastry Mexican dessert tossed in a cinnamon and sugar mixture. They are very popular in Mexico and Spain, and can be found at food trucks, festivals, and fairs all over the US.
Churros are made from Pâte à choux, which is a type of dough that uses steam instead of yeast (or other raising agents) to puff up the dough.
Guys, this is the same dough they use to make French Cruller donuts, cream puffs, and eclairs. So if you love those treats, you’re gonna looooove these delicious sticks of heaven too.

FAQ
How Long Do Churros Last?
If your house is anything like mine, these churros won’t last long. They are best while still warm and my family takes that seriously.
However, if you still have some leftover, you can store in an airtight container for a day or two. They won’t be as crunchy or as yummy as when you first made them.
Why Do My Churros Take Longer To Fry Than Yours?
Folks, if your churros are taking longer than mine, check the length and thickness of your dough. If you’re making larger or thicker ones, they may need longer to cook.
Why Do My Homemade Churros Taste Like Eggs?
If you didn’t make your dough right, your treats may taste like eggs.
To stop this from occurring, make sure to remove the dough from the heat in step 2 before you mix in the flour and eggs.
This helps the butter cool down before so when you add the eggs they don’t start cooking into the dough and giving it an eggy taste. And make sure you mix the eggs in fast to prevent them from cooking.
What Temperature Do You Fry Them At?
Getting the temperature of your oil right could be the difference between soggy gross treats, burnt but raw ones or the perfect golden cooked desserts.
Try to get your oil to 360F/182C. Hotter oil could burn the outside and leave the inside raw. And cooler oil could give you soggy churros.
Check the temperature of the oil frequently, especially as you add dough to the oil as this could drop the temperature each time.
