Why Make This Recipe

  • Less mess – Contain the sticky mess to a single container.
  • Easy campfire dessert – Just add stories and fun to the mix.
  • Or, no campfire required – Building a campfire isn’t always possible but making a pan of smores nachos is a cinch!
  • Crowd favorite – Make a little or a lot depending on the size of your group but be aware that everyone is going to love it.

Ingredient Notes

  • Graham Crackers – Break them into smaller rectangles.
  • Marshmallows – Mini marshmallows will melt quicker but you can use regular marshmallows.
  • Chocolate Chips – Look for semi-sweet chips.

How To Make S’mores Nachos

Get full ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below.

Grilling Or Campfire Method

1.     Preheat campfire or grill and let the flames die down to hot coals.

2.     Break apart the crackers and place in a tin foil container.

3.     Place marshmallows and chocolate chips on top of the crackers and cover with heavy-duty aluminum foil.

4.     Place the pan on the grill or hot coals (no flames) and cook until the marshmallows are melted and begin to brown (about 10 minutes). Check by lifting the foil and peeking.

5.     Remove the pan from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. Eat like nachos.

Oven Method

1.  Preheat the oven to 350 F / 180C / gas 4.

2.     Break apart the crackers and place in a tin foil container.

3.     Place marshmallows and chocolate chips on top of the crackers and cover with heavy-duty aluminum foil.

4.     Bake until the marshmallows are melted and a bit brown (about 10 minutes). Check by lifting the foil and peeking.

5.     Remove the pan from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. Eat like nachos.

Tips For Success

  • Be careful not to break the graham crackers too small or they will be difficult to pick up.
  • When adding the chocolate and marshmallows, layer and mix them so each bite will have a bit of each topping.
  • Allow the nachos to cool a few minutes before serving. Those marshmallows will be hot!

Variations

  • Marshmallows – Swap out the mini marshmallows for big marshmallows, homemade marshmallows, or flavored marshmallows.
  • Graham Crackers – Try using cinnamon graham or chocolate Grahams instead.
  • Chocolate Chips – Go for milk chocolate or dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
  • Drizzle It – Drizzle your smores nachos with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, or butterscotch.
  • Add Candy – Instead of chocolate chips add your favorite candy. M&Ms, chopped-up Snickers, and Reese’s cups are a fun twist.

Budget-Friendly Tips

  • Shop Sales – Watch for sales on S’mores ingredients, especially around the summer holidays like Memorial Day and July 4th.
  • Use Your Freezer – Do your marshmallows get sticky and stale before you can use them all? You can freeze marshmallows for up to four months and they defrost in about 15 minutes on the counter.
  • Adjust The Recipe – It’s easy to adjust the ingredients so you make just the right amount and there is no waste.

Make Ahead And Storage

  • Prep Ahead – Prep the S’mores Nachos in advance and cover with foil. Just pop it in the oven when you are ready.
  • Store – It’s highly unlikely that you will have any leftovers but if you do, cover with foil and store in the fridge. You will need to reheat everything later.
