- Preheat Air Fryer to 380F / 190C.
- Mix together Italian Seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic salt, and oil in a small mixing bowl.
- Add cubed potatoes in a mixing bowl and add half of the seasoned oil and mix till well coated.
- Add cubed chicken into a mixing bowl and add half of the seasoned oil and mix till well coated.
- Add the potatoes into the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
- Then add in the chicken shake to mix and cook for 10 – 12 minutes.
Air fryer temperatures will vary depending on the type and model, so use the cook time as a guide only and adjust as needed.
Checking For Chicken Doneness
You can check the internal temperature of your chicken breast using a thermometer. The meat is done and safe to eat when the internal temperature reaches at least 165F / 74C.
Tips For Success And Variations
- I recommend shaking the basket rather than mixing so that you don’t break the potatoes.
- Do make sure to shake the basket during cooking so that everything cooks evenly.
- Cut the potatoes and chicken to the same size so they cook at the same rate.
- These potatoes are not peeled – just wash and cube – really eaaaaaaasy.
Plus…..
- If you want the potatoes crispy, then cook them for a few more minutes before adding in the chicken.
- Use different seasonings to your taste like herbs, Cajun seasoning, creole seasoning, Greek seasoning, rosemary, etc.
- Add chili powder, cayenne, or chipotle for some heat.
- Top with some bacon bits and chopped cilantro for an explosion of flavor.
Budget Friendly Tips
- Add an extra 1/2 to 1 pound of potatoes to bulk it out. Just make sure that your air fryer basket or tray is big enough.
- You can also round out this meal by adding bell peppers and onions at the same time as the chicken.
- Use chicken thigh meat which can be cheaper.
Storage And Reheating
- Prep ahead – cube the veggies and chicken and store them in separate in Ziploc bags. Add the seasoned oil into the bags, shake to make sure all are coated and refrigerate for up to a day.
- Refrigerate – let cool and store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
- Freeze – Because of the potatoes I don’t recommend freezing it.
- Reheat – preheat the air fryer to 350F / 180C and reheat these for about 5-6 minutes until warmed through and starting to crisp up again, make sure you shake the basket halfway through.
FAQs
Yes you can. BUT you would need to use whole chicken breasts for this as chicken breast cubes will be overcooked at cook time the potatoes need.
I would suggest you put the whole chicken breasts in one half of the air fryer and the potato cubes in the other half so you can remove the chicken breast if they cook earlier than the potatoes
Yes you can. Just add some grated cheese on when done and melt in the Air Fryer for a few minutes before serving.

This turned out so yummy for dinner. My kids and I both love it and it was very simple to make. Thanks for a tasty recipe!

Simple to make yet sort of bland. The chicken and potatoes use the same seasoning, so you’re really not getting different flavors. 20 minutes to cook the potatoes was waaaaay too short. I had to put mine in for another 10-15 minutes so they were tender.
