Ingredients

  • 3 ¼ cups (734ml) milk
  • 3 cups (240g) quick rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup (40g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Place milk, oats, cinnamon, vanilla and brown sugar into a large bowl and stir to combine
  • Portion the mixture into individual serving sized jars or meal prep containers.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Top with chocolate chips before serving.

Notes

  • Use plain old fashioned rolled oats - these give the best results.
  • Add fruit before serving - fruit will last a little less time than they oats, so add in fruit just before eating.
  • Portion before refrigerating - portion into serving size amounts before chilling. That way you can just grab and eat straight from the fridge.
  • Use water - use water instead of milk or half water and half milk.
  • Shop sales - buy ingredients on sale, use coupons or look for discounts in shopping apps.
  • Buy store brands - store-brand ingredients will be less expensive than name brands.
  • Storage - keep in covered containers inside the fridge for up to 5 days.
