- 30 chicken wings cut into drumettes and wingettes
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- salt and pepper
Oil and clean grill grates and preheat the grill to medium heat. Alternately, preheat a grill pan on the stovetop.
Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel.
In a large bowl, combine onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, ground coriander, salt and pepper. Add the chicken wings and toss until well coated.
Place the chicken wings onto the grill and cook for about 20 minutes, turning them over every 5 minutes or so. Check for doneness with a meat thermometer and serve hot.
- Clean grill grates well before oiling to prevent the chicken from sticking.
- Preheat the grill so it’s nice and hot before you grill chicken wings.
- Pat the chicken dry before coating it with the dry rub seasoning blend.
- Combine the wings and seasoning in a small bowl and toss to distribute the seasoning evenly.
- Grill the wings over direct heat.
- Keep a spray bottle of water handy in case you have flare-ups in the grill.
- Flip the chicken wings every 5 minutes or so to prevent burning.
- For even cooking, keep the grill covered except when turning the grilled chicken wings.
- Use this same chicken wing recipe for grilling chicken thighs.
- Always check for doneness with an instant-read thermometer. The internal temperature should be 165 degrees F / 74 degrees C when inserted into the thickest part of the chicken.
- Place chicken wings on a platter and serve the cooked wings hot.
- Storage - keep leftovers in an airtight container inside the fridge for 3 days.
