Air Fryer Method

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375F / 190C.
  • Add the leftover chicken wings to the air fryer basket. Leave space between them so they cook and crisp evenly.
  • Cook the wings for 5 -7 minutes, turning over halfway through the cooking time.
  • The wings are done when the internal temperature reads 165F / 74C when a meat thermometer is inserted into the thickest part of the chicken wing.

Oven Method

  • Preheat the oven to 350F / 180C.
  • Add wings to an oven-safe baking rack placed on top of a cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, turning the wings over halfway through cooking time.
  • The wings are done when they are heated to an internal temperature of 165F / 74C.

Notes

  • Allowing the wings to come to room temperature for about 20 minutes will help with crisping up and ensure that the chicken will be heated all the way through.
  • For even crispier wings, give them a spritz of oil a few minutes before they are finished cooking. 
  • The cooking time is an estimate and may need to be adjusted based on the size of your wings. 
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Leaving space between the wings allows the hot air to circulate so the wings get crispy.
  • If your chicken wings look dry, spray with a little water before adding to the air fryer basket. 
  • Air fryer temperatures vary depending on the make and model. Start with less cooking time, check for doneness, then adjust cooking time as needed.
