WHY MAKE THIS RECIPE

Easy – Contains only 2 ingredients and cooks in less than 10 minutes. Tasty – Fill the flaky pastry with your favorite jam or filling.   Fancy – These puff pastries look like they came from an upscale bakery.

INGREDIENT NOTES

Puff Pastry – Find it in the freezer section. Jam – Use your favorite flavor.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Different brands of puff pastry may be different sizes so you may need to adjust the number of squares you cut out.   Brushing the pastry with milk or egg is optional but will help it seal and will give the tops a little shine. You can also use water to seal them. Avoid overfilling with the jam or it may ooze out while cooking.

 VARIATIONS

Sweet Fillings – Try other flavors of jam, Nutella, pie filling, pudding, etc. Savory Fillings – Cooked meat such as sausage, bacon or ham, cooked eggs, cheese, etc.

BUDGET-FRIENDLY TIPS

Buy and Freeze – Puff pastry is often easier to find around the holidays. Buy and store in the freezer for later use. Make Homemade Jam –  Making homemade jam is economical and so tasty!
