This festive St Patricks Day Dip Appetizer can be whipped up for any occasion, but it is perfect for St Patty’s day.
Especially since it requires only 6 ingredients and a few minutes of prep and pretty much no time to whip up. Really it is so easy that kids can whip this up by themselves.
This is one of my favorite St Patricks Day cream cheese dip, which I also turn into a game day snack and super bowl dip with a little change in sprinkles and dippers. I love how this St Patricks dessert dip, can be made ahead and is therefore a great cold party dip.
This Lucky Leprechaun dip makes a great party appetizer, and add it to your list of make ahead cold dips.

How To Make It

- Add softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to a mixing bowl.
- Use an electric mixer to beat the ingredients together until smooth.
- Fold the whipped topping in, then add a drop or two of the green food coloring.
- Stirring to combine, continue to add the food coloring one drop at a time until you reach the desired shade and the dip is smooth and creamy.
- Decorate and serve with your favorite dippers.

- Chocolate – Gold coins.

- More crunchies – like pretzels, wafers, breadsticks, and more.
Tips and Variations
- Best to use room temperature cream cheese for easy mixing.
- Add more or less food coloring, according to your taste and color preference.
- Choose high-quality ingredients to get the very best flavor.
- Add more or less powdered sugar to your preference.
- Refrigerate the dip: Let the dip to chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving. This helps with a firmer texture. Leave out if you want a sifter serve.
- Green food coloring: For that St Patricks Day like vibrancy, use a couple of drops of green food coloring for the perfect shade of green. Start with a little, and add as you need.
- Keep dip cool: To prevent the dip from getting too soft, serve it in a chilled bowl or keep it cool with an ice pack underneath if you’re serving it at a party.
- Vary the occasion – Use Christmas sprinkles as a Christmas dip, red hearts for a Grinch dip etc.

St Patricks Day Dip
Ingredients
- 8 ounces (227g) cream cheese softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (115g) powdered sugar
- 1 cup (75g) whipped topping such as Cool Whip
- green food coloring
- St Patricks sprinkles for garnish
Instructions
- Add cream cheese, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar to a large mixing bowl.
- Use an electric mixer to beat together until well combined and smooth.
- Fold in the whipped topping and add a drop or two of green food coloring.
- Stirring to combine, continue to add green food coloring one drop at a time until you get the desired shade of green and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl, top with sprinkles, and serve with your choice of dippers.
