Recipe Tips
- Let it freeze for 24 hours. The ice cream base must be fully frozen to process correctly.
- If like me, you don’t like waiting, then prep and freeze more than one pint at a time.
- If your ice cream is not smooth enough, use the re-spin function. If it’s still not the right texture, simply add a splash of cream or milk and re-spin again.
- You can add more or less sugar depending on your taste.
- If you plan to add mix-ins, chill in advance for the best results.
Easy Variations
- Change the vanilla – you can use vanilla extract instead of vanilla extract.
- Add mix ins – feel free to add in chocolate chips, dried fruit pieces, toffee pieces and more as mix ins.
- Add nut butters – like peanut butter and almond butter for extra flavor.
- Vary the cream – if you prefer, use half and half or single cream, but this will make it less creamy.
Storage
- Prep Ahead – Plan to prep ahead as you’ll need to freeze the ice cream base for at least 24 hours before you process it.
- Storage – This ice cream can be kept frozen in an airtight freezer-safe container for up to a month.
FAQs
Unlike other ice cream making methods you may have used, the Ninja Creami lacks a cooling mechanism.
Therefore the ice cream mixture must be fully frozen in order to achieve a smooth, creamy ice cream texture when processing.
You can store this Ninja Creami ice cream in the freezer for several weeks. Smooth out the fully processed mixture so it’s even and flat, cover it, and freeze again.
When you are ready to enjoy it again, simply run it on the same setting used the first time and enjoy.
