Fall Ice Cream
Hey there! If you love ice cream 🍦 and love pumpkin, then boy do I have a treat for you. In the form of this creamy dreamy homemade pumpkin ice cream full of all the cozy fall flavors.
Easy Pumpkin Ice Cream
Yeap, this Ninja Creami pumpkin ice cream is made from a few everyday ingredients you already own: aka canned pumpkin puree or leftover pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice and some cream.
This homemade Ninja Creami pumpkin ice cream is the perfect fall dessert that goes great as is in a bowl with all your favorite toppings or with waffles, dessert crisps, pancakes, and more.
Why Pumpkin Ice Cream?
Pumpkin ice cream might sound like an unusual flavor at first, but trust me—it’s a delightful mix of creamy, spicy, and sweet that perfectly captures the essence of autumn. Plus, it’s an awesome way to use up that pumpkin puree you have sitting in your pantry!
What You’ll Need
- cream cheese: use full fat for rich creamy texture.
- pumpkin puree: use leftover or canned pumpkin puree
- heavy cream: adds the creaminess to your ice cream.
- milk: make sure to use whole milk for this
- brown sugar: for flavor and sweetness, add more or less to your taste. Adjust to your sweetness preference.
- pumpkin pie spice: gives that perfect fall flavor. Add more or less to your taste. I actually love adding a little more.
First Let’s Get Blending
- Blend It : Add the ingredients – aka milk, cream, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cream cheese, and pumpkin pie spice to your blender and blend till fully combined and smooth.
- Freeze It: Pour the blended base mix into an empty Ninja Creami container pint, cover, and freeze it on a level surface for 24 hours. Yeap you have to wait that long I am afraid.
Then Let’s Make The Ice Cream
Once your base is fully frozen, it’s time to bring it to life:
- Cream In The Ninja Creami: Remove the container from the freezer and take off the lid. Pop it into your Ninja Creami according to the manufacturer’s instructions and process using the Ice Cream setting.
- Check and Re-Spin: When done, open it up and check with a quick stir. If needed, add a little splash of milk and cream and re-spin 1-2 times till you get your desired consistency.
Recipe Tips
- Let mix freeze for 24 hours. The ice cream base must be fully frozen to process correctly.
- If like me, you don’t love waiting, then prep and freeze more than one pint at a time.
- If your ice cream is not smooth enough, use the re-spin function. If it’s still not the right texture, simply add a splash of cream or milk and re-spin again.
- You can add more or less sugar or sweeteners depending on your taste.
- If you plan to add mix-ins, best to chill in advance for the best results
Easy Variations
- Change the spice– feel free to add in cinnamon instead.
- Add mix-ins – feel free to add walnuts, chocolate chips, dried fruit pieces, toffee pieces, and more as mix-ins.
- Vary the cream – if you prefer, use half and half or single cream, but this will make it less creamy.
Storage
- Prep Ahead – Plan to prep ahead, as you’ll need to freeze the ice cream base for at least 24 hours before you process it.
- Storage – This ice cream can be kept frozen in an airtight freezer-safe container for up to a month.
