Easy Spooky Punch
Plus like this Halloween Puppy Chow, this halloween punch recipe is soooooo easy that kids can make it without any supervision. They just love the fail-proof foamy effect which comes from adding ice cream on carbonated water.

Why Make This Recipe
This recipe earns its keep for so many reasons. Here are a few:
- It is budget-friendly and easy to make and can be prepped ahead.
- Green slime punch can easily be scaled up to entertain a crowd.
- Great for festive parties, brunches, children’s tea parties, spooky movie nights, and anytime get-togethers.

Ingredient Notes and Budget Tips
I love how simple ingredient comes together for an easy halloween drink.
- Green apple flavored sports drink, chilled: I used green apple flavored Gatorade. You can also use Kool-aid. If you can’t find a green apple flavored drink, you could use a lime flavored option instead. Alternatively, you could use a white drink, such as Gatorade Glacier Cherry and a few drops of green food coloring if needed.
- Chilled pineapple juice: I used Dole brand pineapple juice. It now comes in a conveniently large sized carton at many grocers.
- Chilled lemon-lime soda: I used Starry brand lemon-lime soda. Feel free to Sprite or 7-Up. I also like to use ginger ale.
- Whipped topping, frozen: I used Kroger brand zero sugar whipped topping. You could use Cool Whip in zero sugar or regular varieties if desired.
- Sour gummy worms for garnish: My gummy worms are Trolli brand sours. You can also use regular non-sour worms.
- Budget Tips: Use store-brand sparkling water or fizzy drinks and stock up on drinks and candy when on sale.

How To Make Halloween Punch For Kids
Get complete ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below
- Add the green apple drink, pineapple juice, and lemon-lime soda to a large punch bowl and stir to combine.
- Use an ice cream scoop to scoop the frozen whipped topping onto the top of the punch.
- Stir gently to break up the whipped topping and allow it to become foamy.
- Garnish with sour gummy worms.
- Ladle into drinking glasses, then garnish with more loose gummy worms, or create gummy worm skewers with toothpicks for garnish, and serve.

Bintu’s Recipe Tips And Storage
- Be sure to chill & freeze your ingredients beforehand, respectively. I recommend getting these items into the fridge/freezer at least 6-8 hours before you plan to mix your punch.
- As I was making my punch, a bunch of my gummy worms fell to the bottom of my punch. I liked the look, so I kept it that way! In turn, I learned that the worms tend to stay at the top of the punch when the whipped topping has thawed enough to create a thick layer of foam that spreads all the way across the top of the punch bowl.
- If you’re worried about keeping the punch chilled or need to prep in advance, consider making the liquid first, then covering and refrigerating until it’s time to serve. Add the whipped topping and garnish within 10-20 minutes of serving for best results.
- Serve immediately for best results. I don’t recommend storing leftovers unless you plan to skim off the foam.
