- Cover and seal the Instant Pot and set for manual pressure / high pressure for 10–12 minutes (depending on the size).
- When done, allow a 5 minute natural pressure release (or a 10 minute natural release for thicker chicken breasts), then quick release any remaining pressure.

Variations
- Swap The Instant Pot Cooking Liquid – You can replace the broth with water or try apple or pineapple juice to make the chicken moist and flavorful.
- Season The Chicken Breasts – The easiest way to season chicken breasts is to season the raw chicken before freezing. You can also season cooked chicken breasts with Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder or your favorite blend of herbs and spices.

FAQs
The time for cooking instant pot frozen chicken can vary slightly depending on the size of your chicken breasts. For smaller chicken breasts (6-8 ounces), cook for 10 minutes. To cook larger chicken breasts in the instant pot (9-10 ounces), increase the cooking time to 12 minutes.
Cooking fresh instant pot chicken breast is the same basic recipe method you will use to cook instant pot frozen chicken.
Follow the same cooking time but use a quick release of pressure instead of a natural pressure release. Fresh chicken breasts will turn out juicy and tender and cook evenly in the Instant Pot.
I prefer to add the seasoning to fresh chicken breasts and freeze them with the seasoning. If you want to season frozen chicken breasts, wet the surface and sprinkle on the seasoning. Rather than placing the frozen chicken into the cooking liquid, cook frozen chicken breast with seasoning on a trivet.
