Simple Ingredients and Other Swaps
I suggest choosing the best ingredients you can to get the very best flavor.
- Cream cheese. I prefer using full fat softened cream cheese. You can for sure use reduced fat cheese instead.
- Sugar. I prefer using powdered sugar. Add more or less to taste.
- Vanilla extract. I use store-bought or homemade and add a little more or a little less to taste. Feel free to use almond extract if you prefer.
- Whipped topping. I love adding fluffy lightness with either cool whip or an off brand version. It all works well.
- Sprinkles. Yeap, decorate with all the Christmas sprinkles you like. You can change them to suit the season eg halloween sprinkles, July 4th sprinkles.

- In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until smooth and well combined.
- Add your desired amount of sprinkles and gently fold them into the dip. Spoon the mixture into a serving dish and use a spatula to smooth the top.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to let the flavors blend and the dip firm up. Serve cold with sugar cookies or your favorite cookie dippers.

Bintu’s Tips And Variations
- If you have time, let the Christmas dip chill in the fridge for at least an hour, to allow the flavors to develop even more.
- Bring your cream cheese to room temperature for easier mixing. Make sure to whip the cream cheese very well, so no bits of cheese remain in the dip before adding in the whipped topping.
- I love sprinkling on crushed christmas cookies, gingersnap cookies, pretzels, chopped almonds or chopped pecans or walnuts before serving.
- We are fans of using different toppings to suit different occasions. Try star shaped sprinkles for winter, snowman shaped sprinkles, sparkles for New Year’s, etc. Feel free to drizzle on gingerbread sauce or caramel apple sauce before serving.
