Wake up to the smell of warm fluffy cinnamon rolls without spending your morning covered in flour. This is the kind of cozy, homemade bake that feels special enough for brunch but simple enough to actually make.

I love these Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls because they come out soft, fluffy, buttery, with that sweet cinnamon brown sugar swirl. Even better, the bread machine handles the kneading and first rise, so I still get bakery-style cinnamon rolls, but the whole thing feels much more manageable.
You cant beat, simple ingredients, buttery cinnamon smells, melty glaze over swirls. Like with my Bread Maker Banana Bread and Bread Maker Brioche, this is the kind of recipe I make for weekend mornings, Christmas breakfast, brunch, or any day I want something special without too much fuss.
Why Makes This Bread Maker Cinnamon Rolls
This is one of those recipes that makes homemade baking feel much more doable.
- Beginner-friendly: You do not need to knead the dough by hand or guess when it has been worked enough.
- Uses everyday baking staples: No fancy ingredients, and store-brand basics work well.
- Flexible serving size: Cut 8 big rolls for a generous treat or 12 smaller rolls for a brunch spread.
- Make-ahead friendly: Shape the night before for an easier morning.

Key Ingredient Notes, Swaps And Budget Tips
Here are the little ingredient details that make a difference, plus the swaps I would happily use at home.
- Whole milk: I prefer whole milk for a softer, richer dough. If you only have 2 percent milk, use it. Don’t buy a whole new carton just for this.
- Eggs: Room temperature eggs mix into the dough more smoothly. If yours are cold, place them in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes.
- Butter: Use Melted butter for the dough. Spread the softened butter over the rolled dough for the filling, as this spreads without running everywhere.
- Bread flour: I prefer bread flour as it give the rolls that fluffy, slightly chewy bakery-style texture. All-purpose flour can work if that is what you have, but the rolls may be softer and less structured.
- Yeast: Active dry yeast or bread machine yeast both work. I always check the date first because old yeast will not work.
- Brown sugar: Light or dark brown sugar works in the filling. I prefer dark brown sugar for its deeper flavor, but either one will be delicious.
- Ground cinnamon: This is what gives the filling its warm, classic cinnamon roll flavor, so use one that still smells fresh when you open the jar. If yours has been sitting in the cupboard for ages and smells faint, it may be worth replacing before baking. Feel free to add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the filling.
- Powdered sugar: This is for the quick glaze. If it looks lumpy, sift it first so you end up with a smooth glaze.
- Variations: Replace a little of the milk in the glaze with orange juice and add orange zest for an orange glaze. Feel free to sprinkle chopped pecans, walnuts or raisins over the cinnamon sugar before rolling.

How To Make Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls
Get the complete ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below.
- Add the dough ingredients to the bread machine pan in the order recommended by your manufacturer, usually liquids first, then dry ingredients, with the yeast added last.
- Select the dough cycle and start the machine.
- Allow the cycle to complete; the dough should be soft, smooth, and slightly tacky.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon until combined and set aside the softened butter.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it into a rectangle about 16 × 12 inches.
- Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly across the surface. Roll the dough tightly from the long edge into a log.
- Slice into 8-12 equal rolls using a sharp knife or unflavored dental floss.
- Arrange the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cover loosely and let rise in a warm place for 30–45 minutes, until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Bake for 22–26 minutes, until lightly golden and cooked through.
- Whisk the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and salt until smooth, adjusting the consistency with more milk if needed.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls.

Bintu’s Tips For Success
A few small things help these turn out soft, puffy, and lovely.
- Follow your own bread machine manual for ingredient order. Most machines like liquids first, then dry ingredients, then yeast, but it is worth checking.
- The dough should feel soft and slightly tacky when the cycle finishes. If it is very sticky during mixing, add flour 1 tablespoon at a time.
- Go easy with flour when rolling. Too much extra flour can make the rolls dry.
- Spread the filling right to the edges so every roll gets a good cinnamon swirl.
- Feel free to use unflavored dental floss for clean slices, which works better than a knife when the dough is soft.
- Let the rolls rise until they look puffy and nearly doubled. If your kitchen is cooler kitchen, your dough may need a little extra time.
- Bake just until lightly golden and cooked through, if you over bake them they will be dry and loose that soft and gooey middle.
- Let the cinnamon rolls cool for about 5 minutes, then frost them warm in the pan to help keep the tops soft and gooey. For a thicker finish later, save a little for later.
Storage
These are best warm, but you have a few good options.
- Prep Ahead: Shape the rolls, place them in the pan, cover tightly, and refrigerate overnight. Let them sit at room temperature while the oven preheats, then bake.
- Store: Keep covered at room temperature for 1 day or refrigerate for up to 4 days.
- Reheat: Warm individual rolls in the microwave for 15-25 seconds.
- Freeze: I suggest freezing baked, unfrosted rolls, but freeze them separated so you can grab exactly what you need. Place the cooled rolls on a baking sheet with space between them and freeze until firm, about 2 hours. Then wrap them individually in foil, tuck them into a freezer bag, and add the date before freezing for up to 2 months. Thaw, warm, then glaze before serving.
